AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-17-1066 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF GILL NETS WITH STRETCH MESH OF LESS THAN FIVE AND ONE-HALF INCHES IN GAME ZONE 6 FROM THE SOUTHWEST BANK OF THE SOUTH EDISTO RIVER TO THE TOWN OF MCCLELLANVILLE IN CHARLESTON COUNTY FROM THE INTERCOASTAL WATERWAY INLAND.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Use of gill nets

Section 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-17-1066. The use of gill nets with stretch mesh of less than five and one-half inches is prohibited in Game Zone 6 from the southwest bank of the South Edisto River to the town of McClellanville in Charleston County from the intercoastal waterway inland."

Time Effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval of the Governor.
