AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-17-502 SO AS TO EXEMPT CAST NETS AND OYSTER HAND GRABS FROM COMMERCIAL FISHING LICENSE PROVISIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Exemptions from fishing licenses

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-17-502. Notwithstanding other provisions of this article, persons using cast nets for noncommercial purposes or hand grabs for harvesting oysters, are exempt from the license provisions of Sections 50-17-500 and 50-17-505."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
