AN ACT TO ALTER THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF ANDERSON AND PICKENS COUNTIES SO AS TO INCLUDE THE DELLWOOD SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF CLEMSON, ANDERSON COUNTY, WITHIN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PICKENS COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Boundaries altered

SECTION 1. The boundaries of the school districts of Pickens and Anderson counties are altered in accordance with Section 59-17-20, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, so that the portion of Dellwood Subdivision of the City of Clemson, Anderson County, as shown in Plat Book 1920, page 150-A, Plat Book 13, page 266, and Plat Book 14, page 31, filed in the office of the Clerk of Court of Pickens County, is incorporated in the School District of Pickens County. The area so incorporated for school purposes shall constitute an integral part of the School District of Pickens County.

The Dellwood Subdivision of Anderson County incorporated with the Pickens County School District shall bear the same tax levy for school purposes as the Pickens County School District and it shall pay the same amount per pupil for the capital outlay and such other school expenses which the district is required to pay.

The county treasurer of Anderson County is directed to collect the school taxes and credit them to the Dellwood Subdivision area. These credits must be reported immediately to the Pickens County School Board. The county board of education of Pickens County is authorized to draw on these funds to be used for school purposes.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
