AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 11, TITLE 50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF GAME, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-3022 SO AS TO ESTABLISH A BIRD AND GAME SANCTUARY IN THE HERITAGE LAKES AREA OF GREENVILLE COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Heritage Lakes designated bird sanctuary

SECTION 1. Chapter 11, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-3022. The area known as Heritage Lakes in Greenville County is designated as a bird sanctuary, and it is unlawful for any person to trap, hunt, molest, or attempt to molest in any manner any bird or wild fowl or to molest birds' nests, or wild fowls' nests within this sanctuary.

Any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days.

The legal description of Heritage Lakes is as follows: 'Heritage Lakes Subdivision, Simpsonville, South Carolina; Greenville County tax map page 539.4, block 1, and page 593.5 block 1, all inclusive lots.'"

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
