The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God our Father, accept our gratitude for Your indescribable blessings which are renewed with the coming of each new day. Fill Your rightful place in our thinking and reign supreme in our lives. Support us in our deliberations and difficult decision making, as well as in our time of triumphant success. Make us, we pray, ill content with anything less than that which serves our fellow beings and that advances Your Kingdom on earth. Inspire us to do our work with such diligence and to be so faithful in following Your way that in the end we may receive the Divine approval: "Well done, good and faithful servant".

Hear also, Good Lord, the silent petitions of our hearts.

Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
