The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O Lord, the Source of all blessings and the Sustainer of our lives, fill our minds with the truths of Your Word that we may be moved to a deeper dedication to the eternal verities and the enduring principles which make a people great and good and strong. Cause us to hear at all times and to heed without fail the words of Proverbs: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6). Reward us with the inner satisfaction of being steadfast workmen, whose hearts are at peace with our God and with one another.

We pray in the Name of Him Who is the Inspiration of all good workmen. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
