A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF H. ODELL WEEKS, FORMER MAYOR OF AIKEN, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, H. Odell Weeks, former mayor of Aiken, died on December 14, 1992; and

Whereas, he was a lifelong resident of Aiken and served forty years as the city's mayor, retiring from office in 1991; and

Whereas, he was an exceptionally popular and devoted public servant who was known, respected, and admired across the State for his outstanding work and excellent leadership; and

Whereas, we want his family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of H. Odell Weeks, former mayor of Aiken, and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mayor Weeks.
