TO AMEND SECTION 8-13-1308, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE FILING OF AN INITIAL CERTIFIED CAMPAIGN REPORT SO AS TO CHANGE THE TIMES THE REPORTS ARE DUE AND BY WHOM THE REPORTS MUST BE FILED, AND PROVIDE THAT FILING THE FORM IS SUBJECT TO THE PENALTIES IN SECTION 8-13-1510 WHEN MORE THAN ONE REPORT IS DUE WITHIN A THIRTY-DAY PERIOD.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 8-13-1308(B) of the 1976 Code as last amended by Act 248 of 1991, is further amended to read:
"(B) (1) Following the filing of an initial certified campaign report, additional certified campaign reports must be filed by a candidate or committee working on behalf of a candidate:
(a) during the year in which the candidate is subject to election, within ten days following the end of each calendar quarter in which contributions are received or expenditures are made, whether before or after an election.;
(b) at least fifteen days prior to each election as of twenty days before each election; and,
(c) within thirty days after each election.
(2) When more than one report is due within any thirty-day time period, that form which is required is the latest which must be filed and is subject to penalties as provided in Section 8-13-1510. After an election, a candidate on an annual basis, no later than ten days after the end of each calendar year shall file a disclosure form as provided by Section 8-13-1360."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
