A JOINT RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO STUDY WHETHER MOTOR VEHICLES THAT ARE LEGALLY ELEVATED PURSUANT TO SECTION 56-5-4445 ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND TO REPORT ITS FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE HOUSE EDUCATION AND PUBLIC WORKS AND SENATE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Department of Public Safety Study
SECTION 1. The Department of Public Safety shall study whether motor vehicles traveling along the state's highways that are legally elevated pursuant to Section 56-5-4445 of the 1976 Code are a safety hazard. The department shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly through the House Education and Public Works and Senate Transportation Committees by January 1, 1996.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
