TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO INFORMATION DECLARED PUBLIC INFORMATION UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT, SO AS TO DECLARE INFORMATION RELATING TO ANY CRIME OR ALLEGED CRIME CONTAINED IN REPORTS OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS TO BE PUBLIC INFORMATION SUBJECT TO CERTAIN LIMITATIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 30-4-50(A)(8) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"(8) incident reports which disclose the nature, substance, and location of any crime or alleged crime reported as having been committed. Where an incident a report contains information exempt as otherwise provided by law, the law enforcement agency may delete that information from the incident report."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
