The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God of infinite wisdom and understanding, we thank You for these moments of prayer when all around is hushed as we draw near to You, our Maker and our Sustainer. As we move into the demands and privileges of this day, lead us moment by moment and step by step in the right direction and to correct conclusions. In all that we think and say, give to us a sense of worthwhile purposes. We thank You for this place: for its great moments of the past, for the work of the present, and for the promise of the future. When the day ends, may we have no regrets and minds at peace with God, with one another and with ourselves.

"From everlasting to everlasting You are God." (Psalm 90:2b) Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
