TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 39-41-295 SO AS TO REQUIRE A SERVICE STATION OR CONVENIENCE STORE SELLING GASOLINE AND FOOD OR BEVERAGES TO PROVIDE A PUBLIC RESTROOM AND LIMIT THE APPLICATION OF THIS SECTION TO SUCH SERVICE STATIONS AND CONVENIENCE STORES CONSTRUCTED ON AND AFTER JULY 1, 2000.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 39-41-295. A service station or convenience store that sells gasoline and food or beverages shall provide a restroom for use by the public; provided, that this section applies only to such service stations and convenience stores constructed on and after July 1, 2000."
SECTION 2. Except as otherwise specifically provided in this act, this act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
