A SENATE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE TO MRS. ERIN CRAWFORD OF COLUMBIA, STAFF COUNSEL OF THE SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, FOR HER DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE OCCASION OF HER DEPARTURE FROM THE SENATE AND WISHING HER GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS, AND SUCCESS IN HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the Senate have learned that Erin Burt Crawford of Columbia will soon be leaving the employ of the Senate; and

Whereas, Erin grew up in Florence, South Carolina, attended Dreher High School, and graduated from Riverside High School in Atlanta, Georgia; and

Whereas, Erin is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law; and

Whereas, Erin served with distinction as an assistant staff counsel for the House Judiciary Committee from 1995 to 1998 and as staff counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee since 1998, earning the respect and admiration of senators and staff alike for her diligence, competence, and devotion to the many tasks that came before the Judiciary Committee; and

Whereas, Erin has served ably as Senate Counsel for the Judicial Merit Selection Commission earning the respect of the members of the Commission, her fellow staff, and the members of the judiciary and judicial candidates she worked with because of her intelligence, diligence, and sense of humor even in the most trying times; and

Whereas, Erin is married to Geddings Crawford, Jr. and the mother of two beautiful children, Eleanor and Geddings, III; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the Senate to express their appreciation to Erin Crawford for her service to the Senate and the people of South Carolina and commend her for those qualities that have made her an exemplar in the high calling of public service. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, express their appreciation to Mrs. Erin Crawford of Columbia, Staff Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, for her distinguished public service on the occasion of her departure from the Senate and wish her good health, happiness, and success in her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Erin Crawford.
