VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR WILLIAM CHANDLER, AYNOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING SENIOR, FOR HIS ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER AS A PREMIERE ATHLETE, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM UPON RECEIVING A FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP TO COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY.
Whereas, William Chandler, Aynor High School graduating senior, has made himself a name as a multi-talented high school athlete that will not soon be forgotten, one who has provided outstanding leadership to his school's baseball, basketball, and football teams; and
Whereas, the list of William's accomplishments is an extensive one. In addition to being selected an All-Region baseball player for the last four years, he was named to the All-State team and tabbed as Region Player of the Year this year; and
Whereas, one of his greatest accomplishments has made the South Carolina High School League's record books: he has the second most homeruns of any player in the history of the State, thirty-eight through his four years of play; and
Whereas, equally at home on the basketball court, he led his team in scoring in his senior year, nabbed a berth on the All-Region team, and twice earned his team's Most Valuable Player award; and
Whereas, this triple threat also hustles impressively on the gridiron. For his efforts there, he was named to the All-State team and captured three consecutive All-Region nods. This fall, William will return to the gridiron on the college level as he plays for Coastal Carolina University on a football scholarship; and
Whereas, although William gives much credit to his parents and the coaching staff of Aynor High School, he says God is the driving point of his success and that "without trust in Him, nothing is possible"; and
Whereas, adding further luster to William's already stellar high school career, the Aynor High School baseball program gave special recognition to him at its annual awards banquet by retirimg his jersey, only the second time in the sport's history that an athlete has been so recognized at Aynor. The jersey will hang on display at the school as a tribute to his legacy; and
Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the House recognize such an outstanding South Carolina athlete as William Chandler, and the members wish him much success as he launches the next phase of his sports and academic career. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor William Chandler, Aynor High School graduating senior, for his illustrious career as a premiere athlete, and congratulate him upon receiving a football scholarship to Coastal Carolina University.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to William Chandler.
