VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-20-90 SO AS TO REQUIRE A SCHOOL DISTRICT TO MAINTAIN AN AVERAGE DAILY MEMBERSHIP OF TEN THOUSAND STUDENTS OR GREATER IN ORDER TO RECEIVE STATE FUNDING.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 20, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-20-90. A school district must maintain an average daily membership of ten thousand students or greater in order to receive state funding as provided in this chapter."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies beginning with the 2010-2011 school year.
