The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from John G. Miller, author of The Question Behind the Question, "God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know--it's me!"
Let us pray. God of all, we pray on behalf of Your people assembled here. We ask You to create in us a spirit of mercy and understanding toward each other and those we serve. May we rededicate ourselves to do the best that is expected of us. We thank You for faithful servants and ask Your continued blessing on each of our families. We remember before You our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who support these leaders. Keep safe our defenders of freedom. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Receive our prayers, Holy God, and give us all we need for this day and the days to come. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
