A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ELOISE JENKINS EDWARDS ON THE OCCASION OF HER NINETIETH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY YEARS OF CONTINUED HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are delighted to learn that Eloise Jenkins Edwards celebrated her ninetieth birthday on December 18, 2012; and

Whereas, born early in the twentieth century on December 18, 1922, she has observed many incredible social transformations, technological innovations, and international changes that have occurred in the last ninety years; and

Whereas, she is the daughter of the late Martha and William Jenkins, and she married her beloved husband, Charles Edwards, in October 1945; and

Whereas, together they reared four fine children: Ella Mae Edwards, Charles Larry Edwards, Patricia Ann Edwards, and Jackie Wengstee; and

Whereas, she was a dedicated housewife and loved sewing and caring for her family and home; and

Whereas, for over sixty years, she has been a member of First Friendship Baptist Church; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to honor this daughter of South Carolina at the celebration of her ninetieth birthday and join with her family and close friends in congratulating her on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Eloise Jenkins Edwards on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many years of continued health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Eloise Jenkins Edwards.
