TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-465, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF PRECINCTS IN RICHLAND COUNTY, SO AS TO REDESIGNATE CERTAIN PRECINCTS, TO DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE NAMES OF THESE PRECINCTS MAY BE FOUND AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND TO CORRECT ARCHAIC LANGUAGE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 7-7-465 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 24 of 2007, is further amended to read:
"Section 7-7-465. (A) In Richland County there are the following voting precincts:

(B) The precinct lines defining the precincts provided in subsection (A) are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the Division Office of Research and Statistics of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board designated as document P-79-07 P-79-13A and as shown on copies of the official map provided to the Richland County Board of Voter Registration by the Division Office of Research and Statistics.
(C) The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Richland County Election Commission Board of Elections and Voter Registration of Richland County subject to the approval of the majority of the Richland County Legislative Delegation."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
