AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-40, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN AIKEN COUNTY, SO AS TO REDESIGNATE VARIOUS EXISTING PRECINCTS, TO ADD THREE PRECINCTS, AND TO REDESIGNATE THE MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE NAMES OF THESE PRECINCTS MAY BE FOUND AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Aiken County voting precincts revised

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-40, of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 136 of 2010, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-40.    (A)    In Aiken County there are the following voting precincts:

(B)    The precinct lines defining the precincts provided in subsection (A) of this section are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-03-14 and as shown on certified copies of the official map provided by the office to the State Election Commission and the Aiken County Board of Elections and Registration.

(C)    The polling places for the precincts provided in subsection (A) of this section must be established by the Aiken County Board of Elections and Registration with the approval of a majority of the county legislative delegation."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 27th day of February, 2014.

Approved the 4th day of March, 2014.
