Whereas, the members of the Senate are delighted to learn that Mrs. Margaret Twomey of Lexington County will celebrate her one hundredth birthday on June 2, 2016; and

Whereas, Mrs. Twomey was born June 2, 1916, the eighth of nine children. She grew up in Columbia and graduated from Columbia High School and the University of South Carolina, where she earned degrees in English and economics; and

Whereas, Mrs. Twomey became the secretary of the University of South Carolina Athletic Department, where she met her husband, Ted Twomey, the Gamecock football line coach.
