A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE FRONTLINE MINISTRIES ON THE OCCASION OF ITS TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND THE ORGANIZATION FOR ITS MANY FRUITFUL YEARS OF GODLY SERVICE TO THIS GREAT STATE AND OUR FREE LAND.

Whereas, co-founded in March 1994 by Chaplain E. Ray Moore and Reverend Lee Adams, Frontline Ministries, Inc., of Blythewood is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2014; and

Whereas, a national evangelical ministry seeking to communicate the Christian faith and Gospel message in areas not routinely being reached with biblical truth, Frontline Ministries strives to impact our culture, the family, education, business, media, and the arts. The organization pursues renewal in our society through biblical means, recognizing always that real renewal is a sovereign act of a gracious and forgiving God; and

Whereas, for two decades, Frontline Ministries has defended traditional Christian principles in American culture. In the crucial arena of children's education, the ministry has actively encouraged parents to fulfill their God-ordained responsibility to raise their children with a biblical worldview and has encouraged pastors and their churches to support Christian families in that education. In order to accomplish its educational goals, the organization established the Exodus Mandate Project in 1997; and

Whereas, South Carolina native E. Ray Moore (Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel USAR Retired), currently president of the board for Frontline Ministries, earned his bachelor's degree in political science at The Citadel and his master of divinity and master of theology at Grace Theological Seminary. He served nineteen years as an Army Reserve chaplain and was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Gulf War I; and

Whereas, over the course of thirty-five years, Ray also has served variously as a campus pastor, congregational minister, and Army chaplain. Further, he has served as a campaign consultant or staff member for several major political campaigns, including former Vice President Dan Quayle's first Senate race, former Congressman Mark Siljander's first Congressional race, and Pat Robertson's Presidential campaign (1986-1988); and

Whereas, Ray and his wife, Gail, the 2000 South Carolina Parents of the Year, long have been involved with private Christian education and home schooling. Ray has authored Let My Children Go and co-authored with Gail The Promise of Jonadab: Building a Christian Family Legacy in a Time of Cultural Decline. Ray is also executive producer of the award-winning film IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America; and

Whereas, firmly undergirded by the biblical Scriptures, Frontline Ministries always has kept at its heart the educational mandate delivered by Moses to the Israelites with the famous "Shema": "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up" (Deuteronomy 6:4-7); and

Whereas, Frontline Ministries for twenty years has been a beacon of light and a symbol of hope for the future to the State that gave it birth and, indeed, to our entire nation. God willing, it will continue its worthy heritage for many years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Frontline Ministries on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary and commend the organization for its many fruitful years of godly service to this great State and our free land.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Chaplain E. Ray Moore for Frontline Ministries.
