Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Adam "Clink" Richbow at the age of ninety-two on Sunday, April 8, 2018; and
Whereas, a native of the Palmetto State, he was born in Horatio on June 22, 1925, the son of the late Walter Richbow and Alice Colcolough Richbow, and he received his education from Westbury School in Horatio; and
Whereas, Mr. Richbow studied hard after his schooling to learn how to repair automobiles, and it was with pride that he opened his own business, Adam Richbow Garage, which he operated for many years until his health began to decline; and
Whereas, on August 4, 1945, he married his beloved wife, Marie Weston, and together they shared more than seven wonderful decades and reared six fine children: Adam Richbow, Jr.; Isiah Richbow; Joe R. Richbow, the late Shirley Marie Richbow; the late Walter Eugene Richbow; and the late Raymond Clyde Richbow; and
Whereas, these children blessed their parents with twenty-one adoring grandchildren, fifty-eight great-grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and
Whereas, in addition to rearing their own children, Mr. and Mrs. Richbow helped to raise eight other children in their home: Mary Sue Wyatt, Thomas Richbow, Janie Richbow, Carrie White, Paulette Diamond, Ronald Green, Raymond Azea Richbow, and Adam Richbow III; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and legacy of Clink Richbow and for the example of sacrifice and kindness he set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
