TO COMMEND JAY SCHWEDLER FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INDUSTRY AND SITE CONSULTANT COMMUNITY AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM UPON BEING NAMED ONE OF NORTH AMERICA'S TOP 50 ECONOMIC DEVELOPERS.
Whereas, it is with distinct pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives recognizes economic developers who facilitate the creation of jobs and investment of capital within our local community; and
Whereas, Jay Schwedler, president of TheLINK, is indeed such a developer and richly deserves the honor of being named one of North America's Top 50 Economic Developers through Consultant Connect, a nationally recognized consulting agency designed to bridge the gap between economic developers and site consultants; and
Whereas, this dedicated developer has been recognized for his excellent practices, innovation, and success in building the community he serves through TheLINK, a public-private economic development organization in Lee and Sumter counties; and
Whereas, Mr. Schwedler studies market trends and maintains inventory of available properties to match businesses to available spaces so that business owners can picture their businesses opening in, moving to, or expanding in the area. In addition to bringing in new businesses, Mr. Schwedler looks to strengthen the businesses already located in the area; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives, with great admiration and appreciation, is pleased to honor this exceptional economic developer as a recipient of this latest accolade, and the members join with his colleagues, family, and friends in extending best wishes for continued success. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend Jay Schwedler for his commitment to the economic development industry and site consultant community and congratulate him upon being named one of North America's Top 50 Economic Developers.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jay Schwedler.
