A senate RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE James Harold "Jimmy" Davis, Jr. UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS forty-three YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Mr. James Harold "Jimmy" Davis, Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement from Ingles Markets, Inc. on January 24, 2023; and

Whereas, a native of Laurens County, Mr. Davis was born on October 4, 1960 to parents James Harold Davis, Sr. and Bobbie King; and

Whereas, Mr. Davis began his career with Ingles Markets, Inc. by working as a bagger. He rose in the company to become a stocker, grocery manager, assistant manager, and then manager. During his career, he worked at the Clinton store, the Laurens store, and the Mauldin store. He is now retiring from Ingles after forty-three years of dedicated service; and

Whereas, a devout Christian, he is a member of Clinton First Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and church leader; and

Whereas, Mr. Davis is married to Donna Way Davis, and together, they have two children, Brett Davis (Lisa) and Matt Davis (Sara); and five grandchildren, Rebecca, Peyton, Lyla Kate, Emily, and Riley; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Mr. Davis has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. James Harold "Jimmy" Davis, Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his forty-three years of dedicated service, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. James Harold "Jimmy" Davis, Jr.
