WHEREAS, Douglas McKown, York County Coroner, was suspended by Executive Order 2006-09; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-1-100 of the South Carolina Code of Laws, as amended, in the event of such suspension, the undersigned shall appoint another in his stead; and

WHEREAS, Sabrina Helms Gast, residing at 1181 Orchard Drive, Fort Mill, South Carolina 29715, is a fit and proper person to serve as York County Coroner.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State, I hereby appoint Sabrina Helms Gast as Coroner of York County. This appointment shall remain in effect until such time as Mr. McKown is formally acquitted or convicted.

This Order shall be effective immediately.
