Governor's Executive Order 2007-10 - South Carolina Legislature Online

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2007-10

WHEREAS, Thomas Ravenel was suspended as State Treasurer for the State of South Carolina, effective June 19, 2007; and

WHEREAS, the undersigned is authorized to appoint an interim State Treasurer as a result of Treasurer Ravenel’s suspension from office pursuant to Section 8-1-100 of the South Carolina Code of Laws; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth B. Wingate, residing at 4936 Hillside Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29206, is a qualified and proper person to serve as State Treasurer.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State, I hereby appoint Kenneth B. Wingate as State Treasurer until the charges against Mr. Ravenel have been resolved.
