WHEREAS, the Town of Denmark is a municipality chartered pursuant to the laws of the State of South Carolina; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Denmark has failed to give the required public notice for its municipal election scheduled to be held on February 11, 1997; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §7-13-1170 (Supp. 1995), the Governor may order an election in appropriate circumstances.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers conferred upon me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of South Carolina, I hereby order that a municipal election shall be held in the Town of Denmark on March 25, 1997 to elect a Mayor and three Councilpersons, and that appropriate public notice shall be given.
