WHEREAS, by letter to the undersigned dated February 17, 1997, Mr. Hall F. Nunnery stated his intention to retire as Treasurer of Chester County effective April 1, 1997; and

WHEREAS, the undersigned has accepted Mr. Nunnery's request for retirement, and is authorized to appoint a County Treasurer in the event of a vacancy pursuant to Code of Laws of South Carolina (1976), as amended, Section 1-3-220 (Supp. 1995); and

WHEREAS, Ms. Connie T. Gwin, 3595 Bethlehem Road, Blackstock, South Carolina 29014, is a fit and proper person to serve as the Treasurer of Chester County.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State, I hereby direct that Ms. Connie T. Gwin shall be appointed as Treasurer for Chester County effective April 1, 1997, and shall serve until July 1, 1997, at which time Ms. Gwin will continue in this office as the duly elected Treasurer for Chester County until the end of her term.
