The agency provides a response to the Subcommittee�s August 27, 2018 letter which seeks additional information about the following topics: (1) statistics and costs; (2) evidence data; (3) distribution of information; (4) legal education, training, and assistance; (5) domestic violence and driving under the influence; (6) diversion programs; (7) essential resources; (8) agency recommendations for law changes; and (9) responsibilities of circuit solicitors.
The Sheriff�s Association provides a response to the Subcommittee�s August 27, 2018 letter. NOTE: The letter, signed by the Association Executive Director, states the following: �Please understand, however, that our Association has not had a Business Meeting since we received your letter. Therefore, the responses below reflect my opinion or the opinion of select Sheriffs on my Board of Directors and/or Legislative Committee. We will discuss these issues in greater detail with our full membership at the next regularly scheduled Business Meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday, October 18, 2018. Naturally, our official position as an Association may differ from the position stated below once all of our members have had an opportunity to provide input at our Business Meeting.�

History and Organization of Agency
The documents below are provided by the Division of State Human Resources based on information the agency inputs into the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS). The aggregated data about agency employees includes, but is not limited to, (1) Number of authorized, filled and vacant positions; (2) Education level; (3) Race by Generation; (4) Gender by Generation; (5) Number of full time equivalent employees by funding source; (6) Number of Service and TERI employees at the agency; (7) Number of employees eligible to retire in five years; (8) Number of Trial and Probationary employees by generation; (9) Average salary by payband; (10) Number of certified public manager graduates at the agency; etc.

Goals, Spending, and Performance of Agency
The Prosecution Coordination Commission and Commission on Indigent Defense are required, starting in 2016-17, to provide detailed expenditure reports and associated revenue streams from the previous year for each individual circuit. Revenue streams are to include, but not be limited to, state funds, local funds, federal funds, and also nongovernmental sources of funds. (See Proviso 117.110, General Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2016-17 and Proviso 117.109, General Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2017-18).
