EXPLANATION: NEW PROVISO TO REQUIRE EACH STATE AGENCY TO CONDUCT A STUDY ON HOW TO REDUCE THEIR BUDGETS AND CUT DOWN ON WASTE. REQUIRES AGENCIES TO SUBMIT REPORT TO THE GOVERNOR AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON REDUCING THEIR BUDGETS BY 5%.

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 117, GENERAL PROVISIONS, page 533, after line 2, by adding an appropriately numbered proviso to read:

/(GP: Agency Study Of Budget Reductions And Waste): Of The Funds Appropriated, Each State Agency Shall Conduct A Study On How To Reduce Their Annual Budgets By Eliminating Waste, Duplication, Failed Or Ineffective Projects, And Fraud Or Misuse Of Taxpayer Funds. The Study Must Identify Possible Reductions Of No Less Than 5% Of The Total Amount Appropriated To That Agency For This Fiscal Year. Each Agency Must Report The Results Of This Study To The General Assembly And To The Governor By December 1, 2023./
