Reps A.M. Morgan and Magnuson propose the following amendment (LC-4927.VR0019H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 1, by striking Section 44-12-20 and inserting:

Section 44-12-20. The Secretary of Health and Policy shall be the head and governing authority of the office. The secretary must be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate, subject to removal from office by the Governor pursuant to the provisions of Section 1-3-240(B). To be eligible to serve as secretary, a person must not have been a registered lobbyist within five years prior to appointment.
