Rep. J. L. Johnson proposes the following amendment (LC-4289.SA0028H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 1, Section 59-101-680, by adding a subsection to read:

 (J) In making appointments to boards or other governing bodies of public institutions of higher learning, the appointing authorities shall select members who are representative of the racial, gender, and geographical diversity of the State.
