Rep. Pace proposes the following amendment (LC-408.PH0019H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding appropriately numbered SECTIONS to read:

SECTION X.A. Chapter 63, Title 40 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 Section 40-63-245. A social worker licensed pursuant to this chapter may use their clinical judgement when providing treatment to a patient with gender dysmorphia. A complaint based on a non-affirmative treatment may not be grounds for disciplinary action by the licensing board pursuant to Section 40-63-110

B. Chapter 75, Title 40 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 Section 40-75-226. A professional counselor licensed pursuant to this chapter may use their clinical judgement when providing treatment to a patient with gender dysmorphia. A complaint based on a non-affirmative treatment may not be grounds for disciplinary action by the licensing board pursuant to Section 40-75-110.

C. This Section takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies to license renewal cycles ending after 2025.
