View Amendment Current Amendment: 1 to Bill 3020

Rep. MCCRAVY proposes the following amendment (LC-3020.VR0001H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 1, by striking Section 63-1-40(6) and inserting:

 (6) "Status offense" means any offense which would not be a misdemeanor or felony if committed by an adult, such as, but not limited to, incorrigibility (beyond the control of parents), truancy, running away, playing or loitering in a billiard room, playing a pinball machine or gaining admission to a theater by false identification. Playing a pinball machine is not a status offense under the laws of this State; provided, however, its exclusion as a status offense shall not be construed to permit a cash payout from any person or entity to another party resulting from the performance or operation of a pinball machine.

Amend the bill further, SECTION 2, by striking Section 63-19-20(9) and inserting:

 (9) "Status offense" means an offense which would not be a misdemeanor or felony if committed by an adult including, but not limited to, incorrigibility or beyond the control of parents, truancy, running away, playing or loitering in a billiard room, playing a pinball machine, or gaining admission to a theater by false identification. Playing a pinball machine is not a status offense under the laws of this State; provided, however, its exclusion as a status offense shall not be construed to permit a cash payout from any person or entity to another party resulting from the performance or operation of a pinball machine.
