A Bill to amend Section 59-26-40, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to employment of school teachers, so as to require school districts to obtain criminal conviction histories from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to employing new teachers and to provide a procedure for obtaining and paying for the reports.
