H 3996 General Bill, By M. McLeod and J.T. McElveen
    A Bill to amend Section 38-2-10, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the administrative penalties which may be imposed by the Chief Insurance Commissioner for violations of the insurance laws of the State, so as to provide that, in the case where the violator is an insurer or a health maintenance organization licensed in South Carolina and the violation is wilful, the Chief Insurance Commissioner shall fine the violator in an amount not to exceed five hundred thousand, rather than thirty thousand, dollars, or suspend or revoke the violator's authority to do business, or both.
