    A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-29-230 SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORY MUST BE TAUGHT AS A YEAR-LONG COURSE IN THE EIGHTH GRADE IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL OF THIS STATE, TO REQUIRE THAT SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORY BE TESTED ON THE PALMETTO ACHIEVEMENT CHALLENGE TESTS IN THE EIGHTH GRADE, AND TO REQUIRE THAT SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNMENT AND SOCIAL STUDIES BE TAUGHT FOR ONE SEMESTER IN THE SEVENTH GRADE IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL OF THIS STATE.
