AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR APPOINTMENT OF A MINISTERIAL MAGISTRATE IN EDGEFIELD
COUNTY, TO SPECIFY HIS DUTIES, AUTHORITY AND TERM OF OFFICE, AND TO PROVIDE
FOR FILLING OF VACANCIES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Ministerial Magistrate for Edgefield County
Section 1. In addition to those magistrates authorized by Act 558 of 1976,
there shall be appointed for Edgefield County a ministerial magistrate whose
duties and authority shall be as provided by Part III, Section 5 of Act 164 of
1979 (codified as Section 22-2-40). This ministerial magistrate shall have
jurisdiction throughout the single magisterial district existing in Edgefield
County and shall hold office for four years and until his successor is
appointed and qualifies. Any vacancy in office shall be filled for the
unexpired term only.
Time effective
Section 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 1980. |
