AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 60-11-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976,
RELATING TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA COMMISSION ON ARCHIVES AND HISTORY, SO AS TO
INCREASE THE NUMBER OF EX OFFICIO MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION FROM FOUR TO FIVE BY
ADDING THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AND HISTORY OF SOUTH
CAROLINA STATE COLLEGE AS AN EX OFFICIO MEMBER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Department of Archives and History
SECTION 1. Subsections (1) and (2) of Section 60-11-40 of the 1976 Code are
amended to read:
"(1) Control and membership. The South Carolina Department of Archives and
History is under the control of the South
Carolina Commission of Archives and History, consisting of five ex officio
members and five non ex officio members.
(2) Ex officio members. The five ex officio members are the heads of the
departments of history of the University of South Carolina; The Citadel; Clemson
University; Winthrop College; and the head of the Department of Political Science
and History of South Carolina State College; and their successors."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor. |
