AN ACT TO REAPPORTION LEXINGTON COUNTY FOR PURPOSES OF ELECTING MEMBERS TO THE
LEXINGTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Lexington County Council reapportioned
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Act 858 of 1976, beginning with
the general election of 1982 the single-member election districts for the purpose
of electing members to the Lexington County Council shall be constituted as
follows:

Terms
Section 1A. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1, any member of the
Lexington County Council elected from one of the nine single-member election
districts whose term of office does not expire until 1985 shall continue to serve
out his term representing the district from which he was elected notwithstanding
any change in the composition of that numbered district resulting from the
reapportionment provided for in Section 1.
Time effective
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor. |
