A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF PAUL E. MORGAN,
JR., OF CHEROKEE COUNTY, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO
HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Mr. Paul E. Morgan, Jr., of Cherokee County died March 10,
1991, at the age of seventy-two; and
Whereas, he was a World War II veteran, a member of First Baptist
Church of Gaffney, and a past president of the Gaffney Rotary Club and
the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce; and
Where, he and several other Gaffney businessmen used their own funds
to form the local development board to attract new industry to Cherokee
County; and
Whereas, he was known to his friends simply as "Bud" and
was considered a good friend to everybody in Cherokee County; and
Whereas, he was an outstanding and talented individual and will be
missed very much. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Paul E. Morgan, Jr., of
Cherokee County and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
family of Mr. Paul E. Morgan, Jr., in care of his widow, Catherine
Edwards Morgan, at 117 Sunset Drive, Gaffney.
