A Concurrent Resolution expressing the sorrow of the members of the General
Assembly at the death of retired Circuit Judge John Grimball of Richland
County and extending sympathy to his family and many friends.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF RETIRED CIRCUIT
JUDGE JOHN GRIMBALL OF RICHLAND COUNTY AND
EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY
FRIENDS.
Whereas, retired Circuit Judge John Grimball of Richland County died
on April 8, 1991, at the age of seventy-seven; and
Whereas, Judge Grimball was a native of Charleston, was a member of
the South Carolina House of Representatives, was a decorated World
War II hero, and served for twenty-three years on the state's circuit
bench, retiring in 1983; and
Whereas, he was an outstanding jurist and was once a candidate for the
South Carolina Supreme Court; and
Whereas, he commanded tremendous respect as a judge because of his
knowledge, fairness, and willingness and ability to perform difficult
work; and
Whereas, he will be missed greatly by the countless individuals who
knew and loved him; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly want his family and
many friends to know they are in our thoughts and have our deepest
sympathy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of retired Circuit Judge John
Grimball of Richland County and extends sympathy to his family and
many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
family of Judge Grimball.
