RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF MABLE FELDER
HARVIN OF CLARENDON COUNTY AND EXTENDING
SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Mable Felder Harvin of Summerton, Clarendon County, died
June 10, 1991, at the age of seventy-six; and
Whereas, Mrs. Harvin was a native of Summerton, was a member of
Summerton United Methodist Church, and retired after thirty-seven
years of service as a business manager for Harvin Ginnery; and
Whereas, she was a warm and delightful person who was much admired
and loved in her community; and
Whereas, we want her family and many friends to know that they are in
our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Mable Felder
Harvin of Clarendon County and extend sympathy to her family and
many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs.
Felder's husband, Mr. Percy Bethune Harvin, Sr., of Summerton; her
daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Failmezger of Summerton, wife of Judge E. A.
Failmezger; her son, the Honorable Percy Bethune Harvin, Jr., of
Summerton, chairman of the Clarendon County Board of Education; and
the Honorable C. Alex Harvin, Jr., vice chairman of the South Carolina
Mental Health Commission.
