AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-420, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING
TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN NEWBERRY COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE THE VOTING PRECINCTS,
PROVIDE FOR MAPS DEFINING THE REVISED PRECINCT BOUNDARIES, AND PROVIDE FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF POLLING PLACES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Designation of voting precincts in Newberry County
SECTION 1. Section 7-7-420 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 7-7-420. In Newberry County there are the following voting
precincts: Beth-Eden, Bush River, Chappells, Fairview-O'Neal, Hartford, Helena,
Johnstone, Kinards-Jalapa, Little Mountain, Maybinton, Midway, Mt.
Bethel-Garmany, Mt. Pleasant, Newberry Ward 1, Newberry Ward 2, Newberry Ward
3-1, Newberry Ward 3-2, Newberry Ward 4, Newberry Ward 5, Newberry Ward 6,
Oakland, Peak, Pomaria, Prosperity, St. Phillips-Jolly Street, Silverstreet,
Stoney Hill, Wheeland, Whitmire City, and Whitmire Outside.
The precinct lines defining the above precincts in Newberry County are as shown
on the official map prepared by and on file with the Division of Research and
Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board and as shown on
certified copies of the official map provided to the State Election Commission
and the Newberry County Board of Voter Registration by the division.
The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be
established by the Newberry County Election Commission subject to the approval
of the majority of the Newberry County Delegation."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. |
