A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE COACH FRANK PreviousHOWARDNext ON HIS 85TH BIRTHDAY ON MARCH 25, 1994.

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext has devoted all of his adult life to promoting and fostering collegiate athletics in South Carolina, especially football;

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext was on the Clemson University coaching staff for a period of 39 years, 30 of these years as Head Coach; and

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext also served as Athletic Director of Clemson University for 32 years and was on the athletic department staff for 43 years; and

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext has been honored by his peers by being named to membership in sixteen Halls of Fame throughout the nation, including being a charter member in both the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame; and

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext has been presented the Order of the Palmetto, the highest honor which the Governor of the State of South Carolina can bestow, and Clemson University has also recognized Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext with the presentation of the Clemson Medallion, which is the highest public honor bestowed by the University to a living person who exemplifies the dedication and foresight of its founders; and

Whereas, when Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext retired as Clemson University Head Coach he was one of five active coaches with 150 or more victories; and

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext's Clemson teams won two Southern Conference Championships and six Atlantic Coast Conference Championships; and

Whereas, Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext retired from active coaching with a record of 165 victories, 118 losses and 12 ties. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina wishes Coach Frank PreviousHowardNext warm regards and the very best on his 85th birthday on March 25, 1994.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to The Committee to Honor Coach Frank PreviousHoward.
