A JOINT RESOLUTION
TO INSTRUCT THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AND
TAXATION TO DEVELOP A PROCESS THAT ALLOWS A
DRIVER WHO COMMITS A TRAFFIC VIOLATION IN
ANOTHER STATE TO INFORM THE DEPARTMENT OF THE
VIOLATION AND ITS DISPOSITION.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina:
SECTION 1. The agency charged by law with the
administration of motor vehicle licensing and registration shall
develop and utilize a process that allows a motor vehicle driver who
commits a traffic violation in another state to produce a cancelled
check as sufficient evidence of satisfaction of an out-of-state
violation.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the
Governor.
