A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 814 OF 1978, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE AND MILEAGE EXPENSE FOR TRUSTEES OF RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS NUMBERS ONE AND TWO, SO AS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF MEETINGS PER YEAR FOR WHICH THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE AND MILEAGE EXPENSE ARE AUTHORIZED TO BE PAID.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 814 of 1978, as last amended by Act 262 of 1981, is further amended to read:

"Section 1. The trustees of Richland County School Districts Nos. 1 and 2 may receive a per diem allowance in such amount as may be set by the trustees of the respective districts and shall also receive a mileage expense per mile for attending school board meetings at the same rate that members of state boards, commissions and committees receive; provided, however, that such per diem and mileage shall not be paid for more than thirty fifty meetings in any one calendar year."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
