Whereas, the Reverend Dennis Johnson has served as pastor of the Pelion Church of the Nazarene for eighteen years; and
Whereas, in recognition of his spiritual leadership, the church has named its activity building Johnson Hall; and
Whereas, the Reverend participated in church mission programs in Brazil, Portugal, Kenya, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala; and
Whereas, not only has Reverend Johnson served his church zealously and with true faith, he has contributed to the health and well-being of the town of Pelion. Reverend Johnson has served on the school improvement council; he has served as the chairman of the Pelion Planning Commission, and has been a poll manager for municipal elections; and
Whereas, Bonnie Johnson, his wife, is a constant source of support and love for her husband in his undertakings on behalf of the church, the missions, and the Pelion community. She makes her own contributions by working with the children of the church and community and in her artistic endeavors; and
Whereas, while the Pelion Church of the Nazarene will honor Reverend Dennis Johnson and his wife, Bonnie, with a reception on June 10, 2001, the members of the House of Representatives join in the tribute to this fine Christian couple who work so hard for their church and community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
