A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
RECOGNIZING PALMETTOPRIDE, SOUTH CAROLINA'S ANTI-LITTER AND BEAUTIFICATION ORGANIZATION, ON ITS RECEIPT OF THE 2002 ROGERS AWARD AS THE BEST PUBLIC SERVICE CAMPAIGN IN THE NATION FROM KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL, INC., AND THANKING THE STAFF, THE STATE AGENCIES AND CORPORATE SPONSORS, PUBLIC FIGURES AND PRIVATE CITIZENS WHO LED THE EFFORT TO KEEP THE STATE LITTER FREE.
Whereas, Keep America Beautiful, Inc., tapped the PalmettoPride anti-litter and beautification efforts as the best in the nation for 2002; and
Whereas, the public service announcements produced by PalmettoPride were recognized for their treatment of the anti-litter message in an attention-grabbing and creative way; and
Whereas, the goal of PalmettoPride's education and motivation efforts is to create awareness and change behavior, and it unites administrative and volunteer staff, numerous state agencies and corporate sponsors, and scores of public figures and private citizens in its concentrated effort to clean up South Carolina; and
Whereas, the staff and all the partners and council members have made invaluable contributions of time and effort to the continued beautification of South Carolina and to the national recognition in the form of the 2002 Rogers Award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina hereby recognizes PalmettoPride, South Carolina's anti-litter and beautification organization, on its receipt of the 2002 Rogers Award as the best public service campaign in the nation from Keep America Beautiful, Inc., and thanking the staff, the state agencies and corporate sponsors, public figures and private citizens who led the effort to keep the state litter free.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to PalmettoPride, South Carolina's anti-litter and beautification organization.
