A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 61-6-175 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT ISSUE A RETAIL DEALER LICENSE TO A BUSINESS IN RICHLAND COUNTY IF THE BUSINESS IS WITHIN FIVE MILES OF AN EXISTING BUSINESS THAT HOLDS A RETAIL DEALER LICENSE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Subarticle 1, Article 3, Chapter 6, Title 61 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 61-6-175.    The department may not issue a retail dealer license to a business in Richland County if the business is within five miles of an existing business that holds a retail dealer license."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
